Caritas SED Galle recently distributed essential items including dry rations to 200 very poor and vulnerable families with the intervention of the Sisters of Missionaries of Charity.
It was a loving concern shown by Sisters of Missionaries of Charity towards each and every person especially elderly and those who are in need especially affected by the present economic crisis in Sri Lanka.
These Reverent Sisters identified the most poor and vulnerable and reached out to them as a gesture of love, affection and closeness to the poor. The families identified were from Talgaswela, Pitiwala, Ahangama, Kitulampitiya,Talgampala,Udugama, Nakiyadeniya, Hulandawa and Pitabedda areas.

Rev. Brothers of the National seminary visited the C.B.O. members of ‘Arunodaya’ & Diriya at the “Village Knowledge Centre being implemented by the ‘Food Security’ project of Caritas Sed Galle at Hiyare(east) Akmeemana Galle.

This Van Reeth Memorial Home for Elders has been started in the year 1923 during the time when Rt.Rev Dr Joseph Van Reeth was the 1st Bishop of Diocese of Galle.
Caritas SED Galle staff headed by its Director, Fr Lasanth Fonseka visited the Van Reeth Memorial Home for Elders today (3rd August 2022) and conducted a musical entertainment programme for the elders. Three extremely dedicated Rev Sisters look after around 60 elderly women and men living in this elderly home. The home is kept clean and the elders are well looked after and cared for with so much love.
