Hambantota, Sri Lanka – June 11, 2025 – Members of the Hambantota Nagarawewa Rural Environmental Committee participated in a technical training program on coconut cultivation yesterday, held under the Environmental Conservation Project (SSEP).
The program, designed to enhance local farming practices and environmental sustainability, saw active participation from committee members eager to improve their coconut cultivation techniques. Expertise was provided by the Coconut Development Officer for the Hambantota Division of the Coconut Development Board, who led the technical sessions.
The training focused on best practices in coconut farming, aiming to boost yields and promote sustainable methods among the rural community. This initiative is part of the broader SSEP efforts to empower local committees with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective environmental conservation and agricultural development.
