Munamalpe, Welipitiya, Matara – On June 6th, 2025, farmer households in Munamalpe participated in a crucial capacity building training program focused on enhancing home gardening and pot cultivation techniques. The initiative, conducted by Caritas SED Galle, aimed to empower local farmers with practical skills for sustainable food production.

The comprehensive training session covered essential aspects of home garden planning and efficient pot cultures, providing valuable knowledge to the participants. The program was expertly led by Mr. Indika and Mrs. Chamila, both serving as Agricultural Research and Production Assistants, who also act as Field Officers and Volunteers for Caritas SED Galle. Their combined expertise offered practical guidance and insights to the attending farmers.

This initiative by Caritas SED Galle underscores its commitment to strengthening agricultural practices at the household level, promoting food security, and fostering self-sufficiency within the Munamalpe community.
