Training Program on Food Preservation Techniques Empowers CBO Members in Jadura and Daha Amuna

A Training Program on Food Preservation Techniques was successfully held on October 16, 2025, under the Food Security Project, with the participation of Jadura and Daha Amuna Community-Based Organization (CBO) members. The event focused on equipping participants with practical knowledge to reduce post-harvest losses and enhance household food security.

The session was conducted by Ms. Aruni Gunarathne, Agriculture Instructor from the Agrarian Centre, Angunakolapalassa, who provided hands-on guidance on various preservation methods such as drying, bottling, and pickling.

The program was coordinated by Mr. Yasalal Priyantha, Field Officer, with the support of Mr. A. J. Chandrasena, Volunteer. Participants actively engaged in demonstrations and discussions, gaining valuable skills to extend the shelf life of their produce and improve family nutrition.

This initiative marks another milestone in empowering rural communities to adopt sustainable food management practices and strengthen resilience under the Food Security Project.
