A workshop on Social Media and Digital Platforms to promote gender equality was conducted for youth and children on 13th August 2025 at CoDeSeP, Deniyaya. Separate sessions were held for youth and for children from Grade 9 upwards, covering topics such as gender equality in the digital space, safe and responsible use of social media, recognizing and addressing gendered online hate speech, promoting inclusive content, tackling cyber gender-based violence, and encouraging youth-led advocacy initiatives.

The interactive sessions, which used real-life scenarios and case studies, benefited 35 youth participants from both Sinhala and Tamil communities. The workshop was organized under the Peace Project and funded by Caritas SED – Galle.
