On 3rd July 2025, a training session on pest repellent and liquid fertilizer production units was successfully conducted in Athapaththugama, Hambantota, under the Food Security Project. The training aimed to equip local farmers and community members with sustainable agricultural techniques to enhance crop protection and soil fertility.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Yasalal Priyantha, Field Officer, and volunteer Mr. A.J. Chandrasena from A.R.P.A., along with Miss Deepa. Participants received practical guidance on preparing eco-friendly pest repellents and liquid fertilizers, enabling them to reduce chemical use and improve crop yields effectively.

This training is part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainable farming practices, strengthen food security, and empower rural communities in the Hambantota district.
