Seeds and Grow Bags Distributed to Athapaththugama CBO Members Under Food Security Project

A seed and grow bag distribution programme was successfully held in Athapaththugama for members of the Community-Based Organization (CBO) as part of the ongoing Food Security Project. The initiative aims to promote home gardening and enhance household food production in the community.

The event was attended by Mr. Yasalal Priyantha, Field Officer, and Mr. Chandrasena, Volunteer, who played key roles in coordinating the distribution and guiding beneficiaries on the effective use of seeds and grow bags.

Speaking at the event, project representatives highlighted the importance of sustainable agriculture and self-sufficiency in addressing food security challenges. The distributed seeds and grow bags will support families in cultivating nutritious vegetables and greens in their home gardens, contributing to both household nutrition and income generation.

This programme forms part of a broader effort to strengthen rural communities through practical agricultural support and capacity building.
