A Capacity Building Training on Home Garden Planning was conducted for the Udukawa South Siriliya CBO members in Welipitiya, Matara, on 9th August 2025 under the Food Security Programme. The training aimed to equip farmers with practical knowledge to design and manage productive home gardens, enhancing household food security and sustainable farming practices.
A practical Training on Liquid Fertilizer Production was conducted for the members of the Beralaliya Suhada Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Welipitiya, Matara, on 7th August 2025 under the Food Security Programme.
The training provided participants with hands-on knowledge of preparing eco-friendly liquid fertilizers, aiming to reduce dependence on chemical inputs while promoting sustainable and cost-effective farming practices.
As part of the Food Security Programme, a distribution programme was held in Denipitiya West, Welipitiya, Matara, to provide youths with essential equipment, plants, and seeds.
A programme on Self-Help Group (SHG) Formation, Revitalization, and Strengthening was conducted at the Thunhiripana Community-Based Organization (CBO) in the Galle District on 12th August 2025 under the Food Security initiative of Caritas SED Galle.
The programme focused on empowering community members through SHG structures, enhancing group management, and promoting collective action for sustainable livelihoods and food security.

A practical training programme on the production of pest repellents, liquid fertilizer, and wormy compost fertilizer units was conducted for the Community-Based Organization (CBO) members in Thunhiripana, Galle District, on 12th August 2025 under the Food Security initiative of Caritas SED Galle.
The programme aimed to promote eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural practices by equipping farmers with hands-on knowledge to produce natural fertilizers and repellents, reducing dependency on chemical inputs.
