On 20th June 2025, a Home Garden Preparation Program was successfully conducted in Athapaththugama, Hambantota, as part of the ongoing Food Security Project implemented by Caritas SED Galle.

The program was coordinated by Mr. Yasalal Priyantha (Staff) and Mr. Chandrasena (Field Officer), with the support of local volunteers. The initiative focused on encouraging household-level food production by promoting sustainable home gardening practices among the local community.

Participants received guidance on garden layout planning, organic cultivation techniques, and sustainable resource use aimed at improving food self-sufficiency and nutritional intake at the household level.

The program is part of a broader strategy to enhance community resilience and ensure food security through localized and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
