On 30th June 2025, long-term plants were distributed to Community-Based Organization (CBO) leaders as part of the ongoing Food Security Project. The distribution aimed to support sustainable agricultural practices and promote long-term food security in the community.

The event involved CBO leaders from 2023 to 2025, including Mrs. Wasanthi, Mrs. Nanayakkara, Mrs. Sumudu, and Mrs. Chamila. Agricultural Research and Production Assistants Mr. Cyril and Mr. Hisham provided technical support during the distribution. The program was coordinated by Mr. Rushmore Ferdinandz, with field officer Ms. Nayanathara and volunteer Ms. Ramani assisting in the process.

By introducing long-term plants, the project encourages environmental sustainability and diversified food production, empowering communities to improve nutrition and resilience against food insecurity.
