In yet another remarkable act of compassion, the Caritas SED Galle — the social arm of the Diocese of Galle — has launched a new humanitarian initiative aimed at uplifting low-income Catholic families within the diocese.
As part of this benevolent program, livelihood support was extended to deserving families through the distribution of chicks, cheques for sanitation and drinking water facilities, and other essential livelihood assistance designed to promote sustainable living and dignity.
The inaugural ceremony was held at the Caritas SED Galle premises at 9.00 a.m. and was graced by Most Rev. Dr. Raymond Wickramasinghe, Bishop of Galle, alongside Very Rev. Fr. Michael Rajendram, Vicar General of the Diocese of Galle, Rev. Fr. Nimesh, and the Director of Caritas SED Galle. The Bishop blessed the occasion and personally handed over the aid to the beneficiaries, marking a touching moment of faith and solidarity.
The Diocese of Galle extends heartfelt appreciation to CHARIS Singapore for their generous support and unwavering partnership in this noble mission to strengthen and empower families in need.
