Youth Trained on Sustainable Agricultural Practices in Welipitiya Division, Matara

A training program on Sustainable Agricultural Practices was successfully held on 22nd June 2025 in the Welipitiya Division of the Matara District. The session focused on equipping youth and children with knowledge and skills to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable farming methods.

The program saw active participation from local youth and school children, aiming to build awareness on sustainable agriculture and food security at the grassroots level.

Key contributors to the session included Mr. Indika Priyadarshana (Agricultural Research and Production Assistant), Mrs. Chathurika (Grama Niladhari Officer – Denipitiya West), Mrs. Dilhani, Ms. P.N.S. Fernando (Field Officer), and Ms. Ramani (Volunteer), all of whom played vital roles in delivering informative and interactive sessions.

The initiative was part of broader efforts to empower the next generation with sustainable practices and to promote eco-conscious farming within the community.
