Training on Sustainable Agriculture Empowers PWDs at Sambodhi Women’s Center – Hambantota

A special training session on sustainable agricultural techniques was held on 26 June 2025 at the Sambodhi Women’s Center in Boowiliara, Hambantota, under the Food Security Project. The program was designed to empower persons with disabilities (PWDs) and enhance their participation in sustainable farming.

Members of the Debokkawa Community-Based Organization (CBO) actively participated in the training, gaining practical knowledge and skills to improve food production using environmentally friendly methods. The session included demonstrations and discussions on soil management, organic practices, and water-efficient farming techniques.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Yasalal and Mr. Chandrasena, who provided expert guidance and hands-on support. This initiative reflects the project’s commitment to promoting inclusive development, strengthening food security, and building the capacity of all community members, including those with disabilities.
