
A training programme on Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Preparedness for Small Farmers was held for the Community-Based Organization (CBO) members of Daha Amuna, Hambantota, on 12th August 2025. The programme also included a Crop Clinic session aimed at addressing common agricultural challenges faced by farmers.
The resource person, Mr. Gunawardana, an experienced Agronomist, conducted the sessions, providing practical knowledge and solutions to strengthen resilience against climate impacts and improve farming practices.
The initiative was supported by Caritas SED Galle staff, including Field Officer Mr. Yasalal Priyantha and Volunteer Mr. A. J. Chandrasena, who facilitated the programme for the benefit of the local farming community.
This training empowered farmers with the necessary skills to mitigate risks, adapt to changing weather conditions, and enhance sustainable agricultural production.
