Galle District — A comprehensive training program focused on entrepreneurship development, market orientation, agricultural product marketing, and business planning was successfully conducted for Community-Based Organization (CBO) members in the Galle District under the Food Security Project.
The session was led by Mrs. Umeshika Wellappili, Training Officer on Entrepreneurship Development from the Galle Divisional Secretariat. The training also received support from AR&PA officers of the Agrarian Service Center, Labuduwa.
Participants were guided through a range of essential topics, including:

The program provided CBO members with the knowledge and skills required to improve their agribusiness activities, increase income opportunities, and access wider markets.
Officials from the Food Security Project, including the MEAL Officer, Coordinator, Agronomist, and Field Officer, also took part in the event, offering technical insights and ensuring that the training aligned with broader project objectives.
Organizers emphasized that empowering rural communities with business skills is vital for strengthening local economies and building sustainable agricultural enterprises.
