Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Preparedness Training with Crop Clinic for CBO Members in Barawakubuka

On the morning of 13th August 2025, a Training on Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Preparedness for Small Farmers was conducted for the Community-Based Organization (CBO) members of Barawakubuka, Hambantota. The programme also featured a Crop Clinic session designed to provide practical solutions to farming-related challenges.

The training was led by resource person Mr. Gunawardana, an experienced Agronomist, who shared valuable insights on mitigating the effects of climate change, adopting sustainable agricultural practices, and improving disaster preparedness at the community level.

The initiative was organized with the support of Caritas SED Galle staff, including Field Officer Mr. Yasalal Priyantha and Volunteer Mr. A. J. Chandrasena, ensuring active participation and effective delivery of knowledge to the farming community.

This programme aimed to equip small farmers with the skills needed to face climate-related risks and strengthen their livelihoods through sustainable farming.
