Capacity Building Training for Farmers Conducted at Kammalgoda CBO, Welipitiya, Matara

A capacity-building training program for farmers was held at the Kammalgoda Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Welipitiya, Matara, as part of the ongoing Food Security Project. The training aimed to enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills in sustainable agricultural practices to improve productivity and food security.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Indika Priyadarshana, Agricultural Research and Production Assistant, along with Ms. Nayanathara, Field Officer, and volunteer Ms. Ramani. Participants were introduced to practical techniques focused on soil health, crop management, and environmentally friendly farming methods.

This initiative is part of the Food Security Project’s commitment to empowering rural farming communities by providing technical support and capacity development to increase agricultural resilience and promote sustainable livelihoods.
