A special training program on beekeeping was conducted on 16th September 2025 under the Food Security Initiative at Holuwagoda Sithamu Prarthana, Thunhiripana Gewathusamuhaya in Galle. The program engaged members of the Community-Based Organization (CBO) along with youth participants from the area.

The session was facilitated by a team of experts, including Mr. Madanayaka (Development Officer), Mr. Upali Priyashantha (Agricultural Research and Production Assistant), Mr. Rushmore Ferdinandsz (Coordinator), Mr. Gunawardana (Agronomist), Mrs. K.P.N.K. Kumari (Field Officer), and Mr. Pandula de Silva (Volunteer).

The training aimed to build capacity among community members to adopt beekeeping as a sustainable livelihood option while also contributing to biodiversity and local food security.
