The World Children’s day was celebrated at Andaragasyaya Primary School in Hambantota District under Caritas Korean Primary Education Development Project.
This Programme was held with the participation of Caritas SED Galle staff including Mr Priyantha Indunil (Program Manager of Caritas SED Galle) and Mr Chandima Pereira (Project Coordinator of Primary Education Development Project).
This School is located in a very remote and difficult area in Hambantota District with 223 students who are from poor and marginalized families living with various economic difficulties.
The students performed spectacular cultural dancing and singing while showcasing their talents and skills. A special drama was also enacted by the teachers of the school which enthralled the students and the audience as well.
On the same day, dry food parcels were also distributed to mark the World children’s day.
