Monitoring Visit of Mrs Patricia Henning to Caritas SED Galle on 4th & 5th August 2022
Mrs Patria Henning from Germany along with Miss Sujeewa (M & E Officer) and Mr Jerome Morritt from the National Centre, Caritas Sri Lanka SEDEC made a monitoring visit to Caritas SED Galle on 4th & 5th August 2022. A meeting was convened on 4th Aug 2022 under is Director Rev Fr Lasantha Fonseka to discuss about peace related activities being implemented in the Diocese of Galle. There are three peace related Projects being implemented in the DC namely Promoting a Common Vision for Tolerance and Harmony among Religions in Sri Lanka (Religious Amity), a Modern, dynamic and Youth-centered Approach to Peace Processes & Conflict Mitigation and Agiamondo Peace Project....

Feeding Programme by the Sisters of Missionaries of Charity
Caritas SED Galle recently distributed essential items including dry rations to 200 very poor and vulnerable families with the intervention of the Sisters of Missionaries of Charity. It was a loving concern shown by Sisters of Missionaries of Charity towards each and every person especially elderly and those who are in need especially affected by the present economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

Musical Entertainment for Elders at the Van Reeth Memorial Home for Elders, Galle

Caritas SED Galle staff headed by its Director, Fr Lasanth Fonseka visited the Van Reeth Memorial Home for Elders today (3rd August 2022) and conducted a musical entertainment programme for the elders. Three extremely dedicated Rev Sisters look after around 60 elderly women and men living in this elderly home. The home is kept clean and the elders are well looked after and cared for with so much love. This programme was conducted under the project “Promoting a common vision for tolerance and harmony among religions in Sri Lanka –Religious Amity” with the participation of Caritas SED Galle staff, youths and few Inter-religious Forum members.
